Deputy FM in Moscow to discusse Syrian issue

TEHRAN, Nov. 10 (MNA) – Deputy FM for Arab and African Affairs Hossain Amir-Abdollahian is in Moscow to discuss the latest developments of Syria with Russian officials.

“Syrian government and nation have to decide the future of their country through a democratic procedure,” deputy FM said upon his arrival in Moscow.

He underlined that Iran’s participation in Vienna Syrian talks aims to help settle the crisis through political resolution.

Mikhail Bogdanov, Russian President’s special envoy for the Middle East, also stressed Iran and Russia’s shared stance on Syria and urged both countries to continue the approach towards the crisis.

Amir-Abdollahian and Bogdanov have had phone conversations during last two weeks on the issue. Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Zarif and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov have continued the discussions and consultations on Syrian and Yemeni crises through phone conversations emphasizing the need for political solution and cutting the support for terrorists.
